New Zealand Life Sciences has the capacity to produce both Telo and Atelo collagen. Telo collagen is extracted using enzymes which ensures both the collagen matrix and telopeptide is extracted together. Atelo envolves using an acid base to only extract the collagen matrix. The outcome is that Telo collagen is significantly denser, 2.5x - 3x, than Atelo collagen. Both types of collagen are utilised in the products created by NZLS.
